Greece: May 7, 2008, at age 96. Kurt is predeceased by his wives Lillian L. (Bulmahn) Spindler and Olive Ruth (Schulz) Spindler, four brothers and two sister in Germany. Kurt is survived by his children, William A. (Frances) Spindler, Paul K. (Maureen) Spindler, Christa M. (Michael) Leman; grandchildren, Kurt (Christina), Keith, Korana (Wayne) Kelly, Sarah, Rebecca, Stephen Spindler, Elizabeth, Benjamin Leman; great-grandchildren, Michael, Mikayla, Tyler, Trevor Spindler, Denver, Willa Kelly; in-laws Ida Saucke and Bernice Schulz. Deceased William R. Zufall

Zufall, William R. Rochester: April 9, 2008. Predeceased by his daughter, Barbara Spano. Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Audrey; son, Michael Pierce; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren & a great great granddaughter. A US Postal Service retiree & Army veteran, Bill was an active Mason participating in organizations & leadership both locally & across NYS. He was Past Master of Genesee Falls Lodge No 507 (now ERAC No. 163); member of Ionic Chapter No. 210 & Hiram Chapter No. 62 & served as NYS Grand Chapter's Grand Lecturer (Royal Arch Masons); member Doric Council No 19 & served as Grand Lecturer of the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of NYS; member of Genesee Council No 51 Allied Masonic Degrees, the Pilalethes Society (Finger Lakes Chapter), & Valley of Rochester (AASR). He served as Past AGL for the 2nd Monroe District, as Grand Representative of North Carolina for the Grand Lodge of NYS, & was Patron for Rochester Chapter No 314, O.E.S. Bill also was a member of Schuhplattler Verein Heidengold (German Dance Club).

The family will receive friends SUNDAY from 1-4 PM at CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, 495 N. Winton Rd. (between Browncroft & Humboldt), where at 4 PM Masonic & Eastern Star Services will follow calling. Greece: Monday, March 17, 2008 at age 79. Deceased Frederick Hunte

West Irondequoit: Frederick C. Hunte, 81, founder of Omega Consolidated Corp. of Hilton, died peacefully at his home Sun. Mar. 16, 2008.   He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ursula Hunte; their children Martin (Lynn) Hunte, Thomas Hunte, Robert Hunte, Ronald (Meryl) Hunte, and Judy (Dan) Meacham.   He will be missed by his 11 grandchildren: Brian, Diana, Laura, Lisa, Sarah, Ari, Jenna, Noah, Zachary, Matthew, and Nathan.   He also leaves: two sisters, Ursula Sommer (Germany), and Marlis Spada; niece, Diane Spada; and many other relatives in Germany.

Frederick was a member of the Rochester Chapter of the Steuben Society of America, where he was Chairman of the Scholarship Comittee.

His friends and family are invited to a memorial service in celebration of his life, at the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4301 Mt. Read Blvd. on Saturday, March 22, at 1:00 pm. Webster: September 22, 2007.   Predeceased by his daughter, Lynne Horning. He is survived by his sons, Dean, Douglas (Sharon), Jeffrey (Jeanne); daughter, Karen Jenner; grandchildren, Kenneth, Andrew, David, Aaron, Jesse and Ian; nieces and nephews.   Memorial service to be held at the convenience of the family.  The family would like to thank the caregivers at Maplewood Nursing Home for the loving care provided to our father. Deceased Nowack, John

On February 18, 2007, Nowack, John F., died suddenly at the age of 74.   Survived by brother Robert of Earlville, NY, sister Jean (Nelson) Sanger of Moreland Hills, OH, niece Laura Nowack (Ken Johnson) of Brewster, NY, and nephew Harry Nowack of Waterford, NY.   John was retired from Eastman Kodak and an active member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Humboldt Oddfellows Lodge, Kheder Khan Sanctorum, the Schwaben Verein, the Federation of German-American Societies and the Irondequoit Senior Center.   Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 31 at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 800 East Ridge Road.   Gifts in his memory may be directed to the Brightman Fund at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, or the charity of your choice.   First ran in the Democrat and Chronicle on: 03/28/2007


Deceased Mundorff, Karl

January 17, 2007 Karl was the oldest member of the Rochester Schwaben Verein, and on May 3 he would have been 98 years old.   He was a member for 72 years, and was an Honorary member.

Deceased Frank, Willy

March 7, 2006. Legendary Finger Lakes vintner Willy Frank died of a stroke Tuesday night. Frank was 80. Frank was chief executive of Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellar in Hammondsport, Steuben County. His father, Konstantin Frank, was the first vintner to grow European-style vinifera grapes in New York state. Willy Frank was credited with marketing the wines. Frank died in his sleep in Naples, Fla. He was on a business trip trying to get more distribution for the company's wines, said Frederick Frank, Willy's son and president of the winery. More>>


Deceased Oswald, Bill

Dear Friends, we apologize for sending information by e-mail but felt it might be the best way to get in touch with you all. Some of you may already heard the news but offically Bill Oswald passed away this morning at 8:40. He did not recover from the stroke he experienced last Saturday.

His passing was peaceful and all three of us boys were with our Mom when she got the news. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 3-7 at Miller Funeral home on the corner of Jefferson and Winton Rd. The funeral mass will be on Thursday evening at RIT.

If you could pass the word along to those we may have missed. Our Mom is doing well and feeling good that he did not suffer or have a prolonged illness.
